All Grown Up

Who would have thought, all those years ago, we'd still be getting together, swapping stories about dark bars, boys we crushed, dorm rooms we trashed...but also books we've read, races we've completed, promotions we've earned, babies we've birthed, deals we've signed, kids we've fed (and in Beth's case, that means actually feeding kids around the world).

A wonderful weekend with Beth in town from DC - thanks for making the trip and giving us an excuse to get together, a luxury that we indulge in too infrequently.

Good food, good wine, and many, many laughs. It feels like yesterday we were all together at Miami...and we've come so far and accomplished so much in our own rights, it's really quite awesome.

Congrats my friends, on being the amazing ladies you are.

I can't wait to do it all again soon!

Home again...and then off

I'm electronically disorganized right now as I downloaded all of my moms fun Cleveland pictures on to my work laptop, yet am posting from the Mac so I currently have no photos to share but they are coming soon.

We had a great visit home, albeit it fast and crazy. Ben was literally too excited to sleep and took virtually no naps the entire time we were away. Even on the six hour car ride home where his only option was looking in the mirror, he opted to stay awake. So many hugs and kisses and squeezes from aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, dogs. He was the star for three days straight and loved every minute of it.

Off to Miami for a couple days and hopefully will have time to post while I'm away. Plus it will be a good Ben project to keep him close while he is so far away.

I predict he will turn over this week. He showed some serious potential yesterday afternoon and basically did it this am in his crib but the side wall stopped his full rotation. His legs are SO strong.

I miss him already :(

Hubby and Ben survived their two days alone while I was in Miami with flying colors. I hear they had a big pantless party and watched the Cubs game together (mom doesn't let Ben watch TV yet). Thanks to his savvy tech skills, he sent me pictures of their every activity. So minus the baby Ben hugs, it didn't even feel like time away. Happy to be home and start the day with countless smiles and talking this morning.

Landed @ ORD with approx 45oz of "baby food" in luggage w/no questions asked. Success! Hubby sent pics of Ben every hr which helped tremendously. Almost home!!

Enjoying Sunday

It's suddenly crystal clear why people with children don't go out drinking. Big night out doesn't make for a refreshed mom come 7am. Fun dinner with K&J but could have done with a few less glasses of wine. Was there saki too? Oy.

Today we are just relaxing at the house. It is a beautiful, sunny day. Here's a pic of Ben and I in the hammock.

I leave for Miami tomorrow for an overnight trip. In addition to the anguish of leaving my yummy yumster for the first time, I need to work through the logistics of pumping and storing while on the road. I think I need an extra suitcase just to transport all the crap I need. We'll see how it goes.
